Important Notes

Age and Passport Requirements

  • Players must be at least 18 years old by the date of the online event to participate.

  • A valid passport, with an expiry date beyond December 24, 2024, is required to confirm your participation.

  • You must meet the minimum age requirement to create a full (non-underage) Checkmate Live account in your respective territory.

Fair Play and Accurate Ratings

All new players began with a 1500 Checkmate Live platform rating. However, your actual competitive rating will only be finalized after completing 30 placement games.

  • If your FIDE or platform rating significantly differs from your Checkmate Live rating, it may trigger the anti-cheat system.

  • Completing the placement games ensures accurate ratings, reducing unnecessary anti-cheat triggers.

30-Game Requirement:

  • Players must complete 30 Blitz games to establish their Checkmate Live rating.

  • This can be achieved by:

    • Playing the computer.

    • Playing with a mate.

    • Competing against online opponents.

    • Participating in the Open this weekend for faster completion.

  • Note: Syncing your FIDE ID and completing the 30 games are one-time requirements.

Arbiter Mode for Supervised Matches

All matches in the Regional Finals will use Checkmate Liveโ€™s Arbiter Mode to ensure fair and transparent competition.

  • Webcam Requirement: If your webcam is not enabled, you will not be able to log into the tournament lobby.

  • Screen Sharing and Audio: Permissions must be enabled to allow arbiter monitoring during matches.

Technical requirements can be found here.

Pro Pass Issuance

Once your KYC, FIDE ID (if applicable), and Fair Play reviews are successfully completed:

  • A 3-month Pro Pass will be issued.

  • If you already hold a Pro Pass, the additional 3 months will be added to your subscription.

This pass confirms your participation and provides access to Pro-level features for the competition.

PC Requirements

To ensure a smooth experience, your PC must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Operating System: Windows 10 (64-bit) or macOS 10.15 or later

  • Processor: Intel Core i3 or equivalent

  • RAM: 4 GB minimum (8 GB recommended)

  • Browser: Latest version of Google Chrome or Firefox

  • Internet Speed: Minimum of 10 Mbps for stable connectivity

  • Webcam and Microphone: Required for supervised matches

More information about one line supervised game and our Arbiter mode can be found here.
