Checkmate Live: The Official Platform of the Asian Chess Federation

Checkmate Live is the Asian Chess Federation's official online platform, adhering to FIDE Fair Play Rules for Online Competitions with Supervision for all ACF games. In collaboration with the ACF, we've built a competitive platform that simplifies the game for arbiters and players, aided by our Sixth-i copilot and Arbiter Mode.

No more Zoom is required—our Checkmate Live Arbiter Mode and in-platform video system take care of it all.

Key Features for FIDE-Compliant Play:

  • FIDE ID Sync: Seamlessly connect your official FIDE identity to your Checkmate Live profile through a secure verification process. Your FIDE rating and information will automatically update, ensuring accuracy and eligibility for FIDE-rated events.

  • Arbiter Mode: A sophisticated, cloud-based monitoring system empowering arbiters to oversee games in real time. Utilizing Checkmate's advanced Sixth-i Anti-cheat co-pilot, Arbiter Mode provides comprehensive tools for detecting and addressing potential fair play violations.

  • Multicam Monitoring: Enhance transparency and accountability by enabling the use of multiple cameras to monitor your playing area during official matches.

  • Screen Sharing: Comply with FIDE online regulations by securely sharing your computer screen in real time with arbiters, ensuring a fair and transparent playing environment.

  • Cloud Recording: All game footage is automatically recorded and stored in the cloud, providing a reliable resource for post-game analysis, review, and dispute resolution.

  • Real-time and Delayed Video Streaming: Enjoy a multi-layered viewing experience. Arbiters and players can monitor games live, while fans can watch matches on Checkmate Live with a slight delay to maintain competitive integrity.

These features require your permission when checking in for your tournament and are mandatory if you wish to compete in a Asian Chess Federation event.

Asian Chess Federation Games Under FIDE Rules:

  • Are token-gated

  • Are tagged as FIDE

  • Require an active FIDE ID

  • Require KYC verification of your FIDE ID

  • Require a Checkmate Live Pro pass

Syncing your FIDE ID and completing KYC increases your Fair Play score.

FIDE Player Requirements for ACF Events:

  • Compete under your real name

  • Real name is collected during FIDE ID sync and visible to tournament admins and the public

  • 3D avatars are not allowed

  • Comply with FIDE Laws of Chess and Fair Play Rules for Online Competitions with Supervision

How to Sync Your FIDE ID:

  1. Go to settings by clicking your profile picture (PFP).

  2. Click on the "Security" tab.

  3. Verify via KYC (free for Pro pass holders or 250 Crowns).

  4. Verify your FIDE ID.

Once complete, your Fair Play score will increase, and you'll be ready for FIDE token-gated events.

Arbiter Mode

Arbiter Mode, originally designed for Checkmate's high-stakes esports, is now tailored to FIDE Fair Play Rules. It combines advanced integrity measures and automation with traditional arbitration, thanks to contributions from the Australian Artificial Intelligence Institute and the Asian Chess Federation. The system pinpoints cheating instances for decisive rulings, and evidence can be quickly recalled for appeals

During our Alpha phase, we're inviting the FIDE community to participate in unrated trial tournaments. Your valuable feedback will help us refine Arbiter Mode and other fair play measures, ensuring they're match-ready for the highest levels of competitive play.

Balancing Privacy and FIDE Regulations

Checkmate Rookie, Arcade and Pro players can compete anonymously in Checkmate Live tournaments, but FIDE events require real names. Personally Identifiable Information (PII) is collected only when syncing a FIDE ID, and it's visible in ACF-run FIDE events, to our Fair Play team and Arbiters.

Currently, clicking a player's real name in these events reveals their anonymous Checkmate Live profile. We're addressing this, but we want to be transparent. Your KYC name will appear on rankings, and changing it is temporarily locked for fair play.
